The Story:
Owner: Peter Kaufmann Location: Sydney,Australia Chassis No: 9113210699 Engine no: 6231404 Gearbox: 5 speed Build Date: 03/73 Model; 911E Targa upgrade to full 2.7RS Carrera MFI I purchased my Australian Delivered 1973 911E 2.4 Targa with matching Engine and Chassis Nos. via recommendation from Ian Hamilton of Autohaus Hamilton Pty.Ltd. 27 years ago.i believe that I'm the 4 owner and have orginal service books and owners manual with full stamped service history from new upto when i purchased this car in May 1984. My car is 1/8 R.H.D. 911E Targa 5 speed imported and sold in Australia in 1973.in total there were only 91 "F series" cars sold that year not including 6 2.7RS Carerra road versions plus 2 racing versions. My car was orginally purchased from Porsche Cars Distributors(Aust-NZ)Pty. Ltd. and was delivered new to Mr.Ian Mcnee of Mt.Waverley Victoria on 18/05/73. Since my ownership,this car has been fully Restored from ground up, repainted in Standox 2k enamel (clearover base). All repairs where lead loaded/file finished prior to priming and painting. The only deviation from Factory specifications were the fitting of geniune RS Carrera rear guards, geniune RS Carrera ductail, RS front spoiler and factory 6+7 x 15" Fuchs wheels, additional front mounted oil cooler and oil lines, upgraded Koni shock absorbers, sway bars,turbo tie rods and 911s alloy calipers.The original 2.4E engine has been upgraded to 2.7RS Carrera specification, including new barrells /pistons,chain tensioners, turbo oil pump, carrera(911S) camshafts, cylinder heads have been enlarged and ported with new guides, valves seats, valve springs, rocker arms,rocker shafts etc. the crankshaft, conrod were sized and checked for straightness, crack tested and then balanced.The magnesium crankcases were lapped, line bored, helicoiled and spigotts decked. The Bosch mechanical fuel injection pump and throttle bodies were upgraded to 2.7 RS Carrera specifications and were rebuilt, recalibrated and bench flow tested by Pacific Fuel Injection And Eurometrics in California prior to being reshipped back to Australia. John Gregory of Spyder Automobiles Pty. Ltd.in Melbourne was given the task of trial assembly, final assembly and then installing,tuning and then bedding in the engine for first 500klms. The car was handed back to me on completion on 10 November 1995.The car has travelled less than 6000klms since restoration was completed.
